OOTN | Halloween Poison Ivy

Cheesier smile maybe?

So if you read my previous post (Here) you'll know I am being Poison Ivy for Halloween this year. I really love my outfit so I thought I'd show you what I wore.
Poison outfits are hard to come by and any I found I really didn't like. So after scouring the internet I found this corset. It is just perfect! Green satin with black leafy design. I got so many compliments about how nice the corset is at the Halloween party! Admittedly it was quite uncomfortable to wear but once I got used to it i was fine. It was also pretty well priced at £18.99 on ebay. (Find it here)
I also wore dark green leggings from Topshop (here) and my black pixie boots from Primark.

For my hair I wore my extentions and curled them so they were wavy. I then clipped back my left side and quiffed my fringe. I used Leaf clips I made from cheap Primark hair clips and fake leaves from a craft store. I made some single leaf clips and clipped these down the left side of my hair.
Overall I am really pleased with my outfit. I can't wait to wear it again tonight!

FOTN | Halloween Poison Ivy

I have never really celebrated Halloween much further than trick or treating as a child. However, Halloween is my boyfriends favorite time of year and so for the first time ever I could get excited for it. Me and my friends went to a party last Saturday and all dressed up as various comic book characters. I chose Poison Ivy. (Mind control, toxic lips and long red hair why would I be any one else?!) So since this is my first proper Halloween I thought id share my excitement with you and show you my Poison Ivy makeup.

Now Poison Ivy is shown with different makeup in each comic/film so I just improvised with some green. and was so happy with the result!

I wanted my skin to look as flawless as possible (she is a comic book villain after all) so I used two layers of MAC Studio Sculpt (NC15) to get full coverage. I then used my trusty Collection Concealer in fair to cover anything my foundation didn't (mainly under my eyes and on my nose). I set it all with my favorite pressed powder, Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent, and contoured with MUAs bronzer in Shade 3. I didn't use a blush, instead dusting a bit of Natural Collections eye shadow in Spring green over my cheekbones.

Now for the fun part! I used the green end of Max Factor's smokey effect eye shadow in citrus thunder on the inner third of my eye and L.A colors jumbo eye pencil in lime aid on the rest of my lid and blended them in with my finger. I wanted the inner part of my eye to be lighter and both act nicely as a cream base for eye shadow. I brushed on Natural collections eye shadow in spring green all over the lid and a little bit out over the inner corner of my eye. I then blended my MUA eye shadow in Shade 7 in the outer corner of my eye and through my crease to create a graduated smokey effect. I lined my lid with Rimmel's gel liner and created long cat eye flicks. I lined my waterline with Rimmel scandal eyes khol eyeliner in black. I then added a small coat of Revlons Lash Potion mascara in blackest black and added some false eyelashes. (I forgot to photograph these but they are the Boots Perfect finish Natural Volume false lashes). Then I used Natural Collection  Crushed walnut eyeshadow to define my brows and their clear mascara to set them in place.

On my lips I wanted an orangey red colour so Macs lipstick in So Chaud was perfect. This matched really well to my Essie nail polish in Snap Happy. Both (I think) are perfect for  poison ivy.
Me and my boyfriend being cute at the party!

Haul | MAC

Hey, just a quick post to show you what I got from MAC recently. I only owned one MAC lipstick before this so I'm very excited! I have had my eye on the eye shadow Woodwinked for a while now and I am super happy to finally have it its a really pretty bronze colour and I have worn it pretty much everyday since I got it. I have been needing a decent foundation for a while no matter how many I try from boots they never seem to work for me. I asked for a sample of the studio sculpt foundation and fell in love with it. Its alot more expensive than foundations I'm used to buying but its definitely worth it since it actually works on my skin!

What I bought:

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation NC15 - £25
MAC Eye shadow in Woodwinked - £12.50

I love both of these products and will be doing reviews for both soon.

Update | Where have I been?

So I haven't blogged since August. A lot has been going on in my life and blogging found it's self pushed to one side covered up by other things. I started university this September and so packing, finance sorting and general tears and tantrums over took everything else. It has taken me a long time to get used to living in a new city (I'm still not convinced I like it), but now things are settling I'm finding I have a lot of time to myself that I need to fill with something to try and distract me from my home sickness. This hopefully will come in the form of blogging. I don't know how long I will keep up with it (with my ever increasing uni work load), or how regularly I will post, but for now I'm back and excited to start writing again. I have a few blog posts planned so watch this space!
