Beauty Bargain | Coconut Oil

125ml for £2.29 or 2 for £3 - Superdrug

I have seriously heat/colour damaged hair so I was in desperate need for something to help. I had heard good things from friends and other blogs about using coconut oil so after finding this one from Superdrug for just £2.29 I thought I would give it a go.

What I do

I massage about a tablespoon amount of the oil in my hands so it melts and smooth it all over my hair avoiding the roots. I leave it on for one or two hours and then shampoo it out. Simple! After using it my hair feels super soft and looks so much healthier (smells pretty good too)! I use it about once every two weeks.

It acts as a good moisturizer for dry skin however having fairly oily skin I haven't tried this so can't comment on how well it works. Also it can be applied to your eyelashes to encourage them to grow longer and thicker, another thing I haven't yet tried but I might definitely give it ago!

Hair Update | Ginger Fringe

Because smiling is way to mainstream.

Hello there!

So after a little bit of time of having pink hair, I decided it was a bit to much and time to tone it down a little. I have always adored Auburn hair and so I figured now would be as good time as any to go ginger! I used the 'Nice n Easy' foam dye in light auburn. I was super pleased to see it go the perfect colour despite being putting it over bright pink hair! I have gotten so many compliments on my hair since I dyed it this colour which I didn't expect at all. (chuffed much?)

And now for the fringe! I had been putting off getting my hair cut for months so I decided to bite the bullet and get a trim. I am trying to grow my hair so just a few layers on that part. The real drastic change was of course the fringe. (My boyfriend said he doesn't like full fringes so of course that's what I had done). I'm not 100% decided if I like the fringe or not but either way a little bit of change is never a bad thing.

Hair | Cerise Pink Hair

Hey guys!

So it has been a while since I last blogged (very sorry). I have my A level exams coming up next month and i have been super busy with revision.

Anyway, enough of that, time to talk hair. 

I decided (on a bit of a whim) that I wanted pink hair, so off I went to raid boots of bleach and picked up some Directions hair dye from a local shop in my town. I hit failure instantly going from red to any colour is difficult but attempting to get my hair white from red was not going to happen. 

Bleaching red hair gave me yellow dip dyed orange hair with bright white roots (not going to lie I kind of liked it). My boyfriend's mam was really lovely and offered to bleach it again for me (it went kind of peachy) then she put on the Carnation Pink Directions dye I'd bought earlier. It went pink for sure! but it was really patchy so she gave me the Cerise Directions dye which I put on the next day and low and behold bright pink hair!

I have gotten so many compliments on my pink hair however I really can't decide if I like it. Its really difficult to find any clothes to go with it (that aren't black) and none of my lipsticks look quite right (I love lipstick!). 

I miss my red hair but I don't think ill go back in a hurry. I'm not sure what colour im going to go for next but it will probably be fairly soon (i get bored way to quick).

Lips | MAC So Chaud

So I have finally popped my MAC cherry (oo-er). After spending a very long time going into MAC stores and cooing over all the products then walking away more than slightly depressed I finally own a lipstick! Admittedly I didn't buy it myself (it was a gift of a very very lovely person!) However, I did spend the rest of the day skipping around the shopping center with my House of Fraser bag feeling very jolly and a little over excited.

This lipstick is the perfect 'reddy orange' and it great for day or night! It was a toss up between this shade and 'Morange' however I am really loving matte lipsticks at the moment to this was the one I chose! It has amazing lasting power and is super pigmented.

It looks more red here but I assure you its orange!

See definitely orange!

Lips | MUA Lipstick Collection

As collections go this one is pretty small (yet very much loved!). I currently own just 5 of these lipsticks, but at £1 a go my collection is definitely going to continue growing! The MUA lipsticks are super creamy so wont dry your lips out at all. They have pretty good staying power too, considering the tiny price tag. Most of the colours in the range have pretty good pigmentation too, you really can't go wrong with these!

As you can see these lipsticks have really good pigmentation!

Shade 6

This shade is really nice pink however it is almost metallic which I'm not sure suits me. This one is definitely a good spring pick it you are after something subtle.

Shade 3

This shade is one of my favorites. It is a bright fuchsia and has (possibly?) some blue undertones. I am a big fan of bright lips but this may not be for everyone.

Shade 14 Bare

A nude! I had never tried a true nude colour before so decided to give this ago. It does have a slightly pink tone to it however on my skin tone it just doesn't look right. (I have very pigmented lips naturally) It does look very good on my friend though so I say if you're looking for a nude give this a go! (It is only .£1 after all)

Shade 16 Nectar

Hello orange! Orange being my favorite colour I had high high hopes for this one. However, it didn't seem to have as much pigmentation as the others (maybe because it melted in the sun?) it is lovely for summer though and a great way to add a subtle tint of colour to your lips!

Shade 1

Now this is what I call a lipstick! I am a massive fan of red lips and this is the perfect 'vampy' red. At first it looked very dark (I was a little scared as I'm very pale) but after putting it on I fell in love! 

So over all these lipsticks are amazing at just £1 each and I can't wait to pop to Superdrug and buy some more!

FOTD | Natural Eyes Red Lips

Today I wanted to keep my makeup pretty natural on my eyes then add a pop of red on my lips. This is a look I have really loved wearing recently.

What I used:

• No7 Stay perfect foundation - Calico
• Revlon PhotoReady Concealer - Light (I forgot to put it in the picture Oops!)
• Seventeen Miracle Matte Powder - Porcelain 
• No7 Blusher - Soft Damson
• MUA Eye Primer
• MUA Undress Me Too Palette (Shy over the lid and Reveal in the crease)
• Rimmel Gel Liner - Black
• Rimmel Scandal Eyes Liner - Nude
• Rimmel Eye Brow Pencil - Hazel
• Natural Collection Eye Shadow  - Crushed Walnut (A little bit over the eye brow pencil)
• Natural Collection Mascara - Clear
• Seventeen Doll'd Up Mascara - Blackest Black
• MUA Lipstick - Shade 1

Nails | Lilac Ombre

Hello there...

So I am most definitely very late at getting on the 'ombre train'. However, late or not, I decided to give it a little go. I was getting a bit bored of block colour nails so thought I would try something a little different. It was so simple to do!

To create these nails I used: 

• BarryM Nail paint - 308 Berry Ice Cream
• BarryM Base/Top Coat - 54 Clear All in one
• MUA Nail polish - All Nude

I also used a little sponge, a makeup sponge would be ideal. I did a base coat of the clear varnish then two coats of the base (white) colour. Then I painted a line of the white and a line of the purple onto a little sponge and dabbed it onto the nail. The two colours will blend them-self creating a really easy ombre. Then after a few seconds apply the top coat which helps blend the two colours together even more and adds shine. I love this BarryM topcoat it makes any polish last ages!

My sponge is really a random bit of foam. ;)

I'm really happy with the finished look, I cant wait to try it with other colour combinations (maybe something a little more bold).
