Hair Update | The Concave Bob

So I have been wanting my hair cut for weeks. It was long and I was starting to get bored of it. I had the idea of getting a bob and then put it off for ages because I was scared. Then last Thursday i was in town with my mam and we walked past a walk in hair dressers. She made me go in and get it cut (either that or I wasn't allowed to talk about haircuts again). I was a bit nervous with it begin a walk in salon but the man that cut my hair was amazing. However, I'm not sure I like it...

If you weren't sure what my hair looked like before i'll share a picture.
Only obviously a different colour haha!

As you can see I had a LOT cut off. I'm still undecided on it.
Let me know what you think?

Why I will not be seeing 50 Shades of Grey.

Hello a bit of a different one today, but I felt it was something I needed to share my opinion on.
First things first, I am in no way saying you should not enjoy or like the books or the film and am in no way trying to change anyone's opinion on them.

I don't think you need me to tell you how massive the 50 Shades of grey book was. Its massive. Everyone, even my mam, seemed to have read it. So I decided to give it a go. Firstly, I just didn't enjoy it as a story, it bored me. despite this I found myself telling people I liked it (despite not caring to much how people view me its nice to fit in sometimes). I even found my self saying 'maybe' when invited to see the film. I didn't want people to think I didn't like something everyone else liked. But now it's time. Deep breath...
Taken from The Rambling Curl Blog

I don't like it. Not only did I find the book boring but I found it shocking. It's a story about an abusive relationship. That would be fine, if it wasn't so romanticized. As a someone who has been in an abusive relationship in the past (something I never talk about to anyone) maybe I'm over sensitive to it. But shouldn't we all be? It shouldn't take going through abuse to allow us to recognize it. I really believe if that had never happened to me I would still feel the same way. Stalking is wrong. Physical punishment is wrong. Controlling is wrong. Manipulation is wrong.

I get that its a story, its not real, but everywhere you go there are 'looking for Mr Grey' tops. People posting about Mr Grey being the prefect man all over the internet. He isn't, hes the complete opposite. People are into BDSM, that's fine, you have every right to be into what ever you want, but that's not what this is. I know this for a fact, a dominant in a BDSM relationship would never ignore a safe word, they would never cause pain other than for sexual reasons and they definitely would always respect their partner and their boundaries.

I don't find it sexy and I don't find it exciting. It is abuse. Enjoy the book and enjoy the film if you do. But please recognize that it is not OK. That if this happened to you in a real relationship it would not be OK.

Annnnnd calm... I will leave you with a really interesting blog post by The Rambling Curl that I found really interesting. They outline some of the abuse from the book really well and much better than I could. You can find the post here.

Thanks for reading and bearing with so much 'wordyness'. I'd love to hear anyone's opinions on this both agreeing or disagreeing. Normal blogging will resume shortly.
Bye for now!
